Billy 5100's

I want to order bilstien 5100's but have a couple questions before ordering them!
1-Are the 1st gen ones adjustable in the front so i get the lift?

2-If they are adjustable in the front, my trucks gonna sit slanted since im guessing the rear ones arnt adjustable so what would you guys recomend in the back to level it out?

3-I know you can use the stock coilovers the taco comes with but what coilovers would you guys recomend?

Thanks in advance guys!

1: Yes they are adjustable
2: An AAL (add-a-leaf) is your best bet for the back
3: They are designed for use with the stock springs. If you use aftermarket coils, you should set the billy's so that you don't exceed 3" of total lift (coils+billys)

I would recommend a Toytec AAL.
http://www.toyteclifts.com/index.php...=116&Itemid=72

The billy's are adjustable to 2.5" of lift with the stock coils. If you use aftermarket coils, which lift the truck by themselves, then setting the billy's higher will give you additional lift.

Say the aftermarket coils lift the truck 1.5". Setting the billies at the highest setting will give you 4" of lift (2.5" from the preload from the shocks, 1.5" from the springs themselves).

I would not recommend going any higher than 3" total. In fact anything over 2.5" and you will likely need new UCAs (upper control arms) which are pretty pricey.

Never call 4wp for anything. They don't know shit.

Here are the billys for the 1st gens. DownSouthMotorsports has best prices and customer service around, as well.

alright to finish up this tread, i can get the front to 2'' without aal in the back and i shouldnt have any long term problems. One more question before im done, will installing these 5100's void my warranty?

It will not. Google the "magnuson-moss act". Your warranty cannot be voided. The dealer only has the right to deny an individual claim if they prove that the aftermarket parts directly led to the failure.

You have a warranty?

You can only set 1st gen 5100's to 0, 1.25 or 2.5 unless you get this kit

or the entire kit like this

alright bro, a couple more questins, bare with me here

1- in running stock 265/70/16 bfgs. if i got with the 2.5 setting in the front and the AAl in the back, will the gap be too big and tires look too small?

2- if i just set the front to 1.25'' and leave the back without the AAL and just the billies, will it sit slanted?

3- if i want to go 2'' in the front, is there a coil that will give me the remaining .75''
3-

I can't answer specifics because I have a 2nd gen, but here's a bump for you.

You also might want to PM a moderator to get this moved to the suspension forum...you'll get a lot more hits over there.
