Dynomax super turbo

I got $150 for Christmas and I was thinking about replacing my stock muffler. I'm considering the Dynomax Super Turbo mainly because of the the love this muffler gets on TW.

My only concern is the noise level. I'm looking for something slightly louder than stock with no drone. Also, I would like it to be quiet while cruising at 75 mph.

If you have experience with this muffler, do you think this muffler is what I'm looking for? I've heard the sound clips on youtube, but it's so hard to figure out if it's really what I want. I've never heard it in person, so, your input is much appreciated!

i like mine. its not very loud. no drone at highway speed. its also the only muffler that chris 4x4 dynoed that showed any horsepower gains (which is the reason i got it).

Had it on my truck for a while now. Quick and painless to get installed, cheap, a bit louder than stock at WOT and a nice rumble at around 2k rpm. No drone at all on the highway.

EDIT: Forgot to mention. You'll need a center in/offset out model. 2.25" or 2.5" will work fine.

I think mine is a 17748 too if I remember right.

I see you're from Frisco. I grew up in Plano.

Reading your first post, this is exactly the muffler you're looking for.

i might have to go this route too, as far as just changing out the muffler. anybody know if this will in any way, void the warranty?

Love mine on 2nd Gen. Sound was exactly what I was looking for, slightly louder than stock but not too loud. No drone. Part number for muffler was 17219 included in the cat back system number 39447. It was very easy to install myself. Just sawzall old pipe and it took about 45 minutes at a nice easy pace.

You need the 17219 muffler. I think the 17748 is for 1st Gen.

Just so we are all clear model 17219 is the "ultra flow welded" model not the super turbo.

17748 has a 2 1/2" inlet and outlet. if you want a 2 1/4" in and out you could go with the 17731 which is also a super turbo.

Also could someone clarify why the 17748 would be for a 1st gen and not 2nd? they both have 2 1/2" in/out and the only difference I see is that the 17219 is 6" shorter. But what do I know im just starting to look for a muffler myself.
