so i been searching on here for quite awhile and just can find a stright up answer. What gears are in a 1997 single cab 4x4 tacoma 2.7 manual? And can someone explain how gears are sized. is a 4.10 - 4.11 a lower gear i mean is the bigger the last number the lower the gear? I would like to eventualy run 32 11.50 or some 33 11.50 so im just trying to figure these gears out. Thanks so much, zack

try looking in side your door panel. and it will be some letter( if i remember correctly) and you take those letters on your drivers door panel and put them in a key an it will give you your info. heres how i did it... http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-tacomas/122342-gear-ratio-98-taco.html.

and you may want to go up to 4.56 or mabey even 4.88 but probally 4.56 cuz its manual.

    good luck
