For those with URD intake....

Hey guys, I don't know if it just my engine problem or is it my intake problem but I noticed since I put that intake in my engine fails on me 3 times already (this happens after 24hrs I put the intake in) but yea the first time it fails on local street, second time on Freeway SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME!!! THIRD TIME WAS TODAY WHEN I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN and the engine just shuts down and my steering wheel was frozen thought i was heading straight for the other car that was waiting for left turn.

So anything I can do about this?? I don't know if its the effect of the intake or the sensor since I didn't solder like the instruction told to, or is it that I haven't installed the MAF calibrator yet?...please, I need help quick!!!

I bet it is because you didn't solder. You should solder them right away before any corrosion starts starts forming on the wires.

it is pretty easy.

First: Slide the heatshrink onto the wires.
Second: Look at my attached picture and do one wire at a time
Third: Get a soldering iron and some electronic solder (NOT the plumbing stuff)
Fourth: Heat the back of the wires with the solder.
Fifth: Feed the solder into the front of the wires (opposite the soldering iron)
Sixth: You want the solder to be drawn in fully. You should still be able to make out the wires when you're done.
Seventh: Mash down any sharp edges from the wires protruding and slide heat shrink over the connection. You can use a cigarette lighter to shrink the tubing.Wire Connections.pdf

if u dont wanna get fancy, just get a roll of solder from autozone, advanced, etc and a cigarette lighter. roll out about 6" of the solder, heat it up w/ the lighter til it melts up, then quickly touch that to the wires that are twisted together....then wrap them in electrical tape afterwards. easy to do.

This will probably work fine, but your best connections will come from the wire being heated first.

I bet its your connections. Twisting wires and taping does not work. if its a loose connections theres no signal from the maf.
