ok so iv got an 07 tacoma with a 4.0. and iv got a k&n cold air intake, and non chambered exhaust so the intake and exhaust breather fairly well. i would prefer not to have to take the hit and buy S/C or turbo, but want more horsepower. i change the oil regularly and use lucas fuel injector regularly as well. any ideas on how i can get more horsepower?

possibly new headers. depending on tire size maybe new gears. bigger injectors. custom dual intake. chip. maybe you could go with one of these.

URD MAF CAL might help...but a blower is the only real way to make an appreciable bit more power.

does anyone have any experience with injectors or chips? those seem to be the most doable. and would a dual intake bring in too much air? and on that sqire turbo, what kind of hp gains am i looking at do you think?

i am not sure about the hp gain of the turbo but i would belive it should be a good amount i chacked the price and it is about 2000 sorry i was a little short on the first price. i know nothing about the dual intake think other than i have personally seen it and it makes sense more air more power bt with all that air you need more fuel so you get bigger injectors. the only thing i know about bigger injectors it that more fuel more power. i have never hear of anybody chipping there taco but they make them.

Brunes hit it on the head. The OEM injectors already have a higher flow rate than what the NA engine can use. Chips are a gimmick on these engine, and if using a "Dual intake", you would need 2 MAF's, and the programming doesnt support that. So....Turbo, Supercharger, or URD MAF calibrator. Pick your power, and open the wallet.

ya i tried looking for a chip some time ago but it seems most are BS. so i guess if im gonna do injectors i might as well do the dual intake so maybe the fuel to air ratio will increase on both ends and it wont be lopsided. that turbo looks like its gonna have to wait unfortunately. thanks for all the information, hopefully someone else will post about injectors so i can get pointed in the right direction.

What are you talking about "Dual Intake"? The intake plenum doesnt feed one side or the other. The intake runs into 6 tubes, then those go to each respective CC.

Dual intakes, No. Larger injectors, Yes, if you are SC'd or turboed.
