And alot of those "Racing" mufflers are just a gimmick. Most "Race" exhausts dont use a muffler. Only when noise restrictions are in place due to class restrictions, and many times only a resonator is used.

How do you think the aero turbine 2525xl would do as far as gains or losses?

I havent dyno'ed one on a second genn'er, but a buddy dyno'ed one on his 3.4, and the gains were about 3 to 4 hp.

So these exhausts that improve 5-8 HP, (Dynomax Super Turbo for instance) Do they improve performance/throttle response at both high AND low RPMs, or do you have to sacrifice one for the other?

98taco. I used to have a 98 2.7l tacoma and I had a cold air intake with a series 40 flowmaster muffler dual pipes and I loved the sound. probably the best sound I could get out of the 2.7L. And honestly I saw an increase in performance and throttle response in mine. I was completely happy with it

Most followed the OEM power curve until around 3K to 3500 RPM, then began to show more gains. Below that, maybe 1 or 2 hp.

I cant remember off hand. Its the one URD sells.....

I just looked on the URD website and their exhaust uses a 3" pipe whereas OEM is 2-1/2, did you use the full system or just the muffler?

The one I used was a 2.5" .....they may have changed it. THe 3" is better for an SC'd engine.
