Straight pipe from cat back

How much power is gained if I just straight pipe my tacoma from cat back? My friend has this done on his 07 dodge 3500 2wd dually and he said it gives it more torque and it sounds good.

 

yes. We was thinking about straight piping a early 90's model chevy 1500 like this would it loose power? My buddy said it will gain a little power.
