Well headers are going to run you anywhere from $400-$600 so you will have to fork over some cash for them. AFE is a reputable brand, but don't expect to gain gobs of HP and Torque from a simple header and intake combo. Your looking at probably a gain of 15-18 HP. These trucks are pretty limited in the power adder section unless you go full blown supercharger. With the AFE stage II and headers you're looking to spend close to $600-$700. I'd say save your money cause in the end, you're still driving a 4,000lb underpowered V6 truck.

Underpowered? But thats true about saving money, I'm not racing my truck I just want it to breath better and just thought the headers would help, but yeah I might just stick to an intake

If you get an intake get the AFE Stage 2 SI but an aftermarket intake won't do much for you. If you do a simple search you will see that most agree.

Yeah that's the intake I was looking at

And ^^^ yeah I dont think they are underpowered at all! You obviously can't compare it to a V8 but if you compare it to all the other v6 truck models like the colorado, frontier etc... Tacoma is definetaly on top

4000 lbs with a decent gear ratio and 236hp is under powered? I have to disagree
My 07 has way more power then my Tahoe with the 5.7 V8 ever did

These trucks get up and go pretty good but in the end they are bricks. You want a fast truck? Buy a Cyclone:

These are pretty quick trucks IMO. Supercharger is the way to go though!

I was going to throw a blower and other junk at my truck but in the end it will be a fast truck but not that fast compared to a car. If my quad sells I will be deciding between a blower or a 300zx turbo. The blower would be nice but eh. The Z would be awesome but it is another car.

If you want to spend all your time with your truck in the shop, get a Dodge Cummings, if you want power, get a Duramax

I'm sorry but I really disagree about the intake. Maybe I just read it wrong but mine is paying for itself everyday. I get way better gas mileage with my K&N CAI and you can definitely tell the difference just in the engine sounds. I noticed a difference the second I started mine up after installing it. Way better throttle response and a nice throaty sound from the engine starting around 3k RPM. I recommend them. But anyways, I'm looking for a thread about changing manual transmission fluid in a second gen. Anybody have any links for that? Thanks
