thinking of buying the URD MAF CAL, but i have a K&N CAI, will i still notice a performance increase or should i buy the URD TCAI? and also if i repiped the K&N to simulate the placement of the URD TCAI will it work just as well?

Talk to Gadget/URD and ensure that they have a map for your intake. The MAF calibrator is nothing more that a fuel map that's used for open loop fuel mapping, if they have a good fuel map for the K&N, ask them to pre-load it.

Also, don't forget that the MAF Cali ONLY operates in open loop mode. It's not going to make much difference for any normal daily driving (e.g., after it's warmed up and not 85-90% throttle).
