Beware.... of afeintakestore.com

I just have to vent about a bad experience I had with afeintakestore.com. I ordered my aFe exhaust kit 2 days ago from them, simply because they seemed like a reputable distributor for aFe directly, and they had the lowest price on the kit I wanted (49-46002 = $323 w/ free shipping). It stated on their website that they would ship within 24hrs, so I checked the status this morning, and it said "Pending Credit". What the fuck does that mean?! I checked with my bank, and they had already pre-authorized the purchase, and withdrew the funds. I decided to call, and after being put on hold twice for 10 min. the Guy gets back on the phone and says "I got some bad news, we can't sell it you for that price, we're going to have to charge your card $35 more, is that okay?" I told him to cancel the order unless they can honor that price or match the next best deal ($335 @ 4wheelonline), neither of which he could do. He said he would cancel it, and I was just going to order it from 4wheelonline.

After waiting about 5 hours, there were no emails or notifications, and there was still no refund. So I called again, got put on hold again, they had to speak with the "finance dept." to manually cancel the order and refund my money. I just got an email from them stating that the order was cancelled, and any refunds will be processed in 3-5 business days. FUCK!!! Now I have to wait until next week to order it! Call me cheap and impatient, but the whole situation really pisses me off. That's the price for being cheap and buying shit online. Rant over.

I've always found it interesting how fast the money can come out of your account (instantly) vs. how much time it takes to put it back in ( I once had to wait 21 days).

Exactly! I understand how merchant processing and verification works, I just don't agree with how they handled it. Oh, well I am off work now with a beer in my hand, no sense complaining anymore.

Check on Amazon, last I saw, they had a price that beat what you've listed.

http://www.amazon.com/aFe-51-81162-S.../dp/B001ABMY3Y

And this is for the Pro-Dry S filter too.

You might also want to just watch the Amazon price for a few weeks. I've seen the price for this same model go for around $265.

It's pretty ridiculous how they yank it out in seconds and take forever to put it back. It's not like the company just spent the money you gave them!

If you read the website's address fast it looks like it's called afakestore.com. That would've been my signal haha

Thanks, that is for the CAI, which I already got (from Amazon ) and I love it!!! This complaint is for the exhaust kit that aFe also makes.

Just a heads, up I have received my refund this morning, and re-ordered the exhaust from 4wheeonline.com. Let's hope everything goes smoothly with them, since I want to get my wheels and tires from them also and save an ASSLOAD!!!

Hey folks, URD keeps aFe intakes with the ProDryS filters in stock on our shelf ready to ship.

We have our published pricing set at the minimum allowed by aFe. If you see listed for less they may not be a reputable dealer.

URD wii always price match if you see it lower. Just give us a call.

I can say that URD has some of the best customer service around and they are a vendor on this site.
