Will do. I was getting 156 I think this afternoon. Any luck getting the engine oil temp to read?

I don't know about the engine oil temp.

But the trans temp sounds about right, mine stayed around 140 on the freeway today (running 75 ish on a slight incline)

I may be wrong, but I don't think we have the sensor for engine oil temp. Just the idiot light sending unit.

Wouldn't that idiot light have to get a signal though? I'd think we could read it? The idiot light must have a predetermined temp it comes on at, so somehow that is being read?

Yes, but there are variable sending units and fixed sending switches. One has a spring and when the pressure reaches a certain number it is no longer strong enough to push the spring and the contact is made illuminating the light. It's like slowly pushing on a standard light switch, eventually the light will turn off, no dimming happens.

I towed my 16' trailer and Kawasaki Teryx 4 to the eastern KY mountains this weekend. I towed most of the trip with 5th locked out. Speeds ranged from 50-70 MPH on 2 lane roads and about 30 miles of interstate I-75 with some decent grades. I never saw the temp get above 190, and most of the time it was 160-170.

The trailer and T4 should weigh around 3400 lbs I'd estimate with all the riding gear, spare tire, fuel, and tools.

Hmm, I may have to look into this more. I think something is up with my tranny anyway. When I'm backing out, when I flip in D sometimes it hesitates before lurching forward.

I tried the equation from post 403 today on my 07. I get two different readings that seem reasonable, but they seem to be in Centigrade degrees for some reason. The readout warms up to 58 degrees (parked and idling) or so, which I think is around 140 F. The needle gage even say's it's "deg C" although the scale numbers do range from 0 to 220 as specified in the entries.

    Any ideas?

Go to Settings from the opening menu, and then go to Units. Confirm your units are in °F.

Never mind, I think I fixed it. You have to go to the Torque global settings for units and turn off the check block "Use Centigrade"

So I have been reading through some of this thread and had some more questions, does the bluetooth still draw power when the car is off? Is this dependent on the dongle? Does the Torque app measure fuel tank volume so i can write a code for miles left in tank? Thanks for all the help, im driving a 2014 Taco

Can any of you answer me this? When my peddle is on the floor I'm only at 76% throttle according to the app. Is this normal or should I be able to get closer to 100%?

Has anyone on here done anything like this?

    http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29723

Looks pretty neat. I'm trying to decide if I wanna get a new head unit or try to integrate an old android phone I have into a permanent dash fixture to run torque/hold music.

I have been having a ton of trouble getting torque working on my '00 Tacoma. I bought the bafx obd2 bluetooth adapter directly from Amazon and I'm using the pro version of the app. I am using a Samsung s2. I've also tried a Samsung Note 4 with no luck.

The app connects to the adapter fine but the adapter is never able to communicate with the ECU. The adapter/app works fine with my '11 Silverado.

OBD clearinghouse says my truck uses ISO 9141 OR KWP2000. I've tried hardcoding the app to ISO 9141 & ISO14230-4 with no luck.

I believe my OBDii port is good - the guy at autozone was able to pull codes from it with no problems last week.

I've done all the obvious things like rebooting my phone/trying with key in the on position and with the engine running. I'm starting to run out of ideas. Should I try anything else?

Edit: Forgot to mention - The truck was manufactured in California on 6/00 so its definitely not JDM.
