Well I beat you guys to those apps. Funny cuz when I got a profile setup that when it detects power, it deactivates airplane mode and launches torque, and vise versa when unplugged from power. then when I plugged it in, that's when it went on the fritz because the chargering icon was flickering on and off really fast. Therefore it was activating/deactivating airplane and launching/killing torque super fast and pretty much couldn't do anything on the tab till I rebooted. Ha... Couldn't figure out what was going on at first. Just coincidence that the charger went out at the same time I think. At least I hope it's the charger and not the port on the tablet. I'll wait and see when the oem charger arrives. If it's not that, I'm not even gonna worry about the battery or the charging port. I'll just rma the tablet, the power inverter, and the oem charger and spend like $30 more and get the Samsung galaxy tab 4. But I see mixed reviews on that one too, but seems to be the best one in that price range $142 I think it was.

I knew there had to be an app for that. Thank you. Might be mounting my tablet in the truck. Thanks.

Tasker was the original app that a started it. MacroDroid is another goodie. There Are youtube tutorials and tutorials on the torque forum

Has anyone been able to get Torque to appear on their Entune display? From what I've read, no one else has been successful or really toyed with it much. I haven't played with it much either, but it does not seem to be Android OS. This is a non-navigation/non-JBL unit.

Pretty sure it doesn't work the way I hoped. It does have apps, but its pretty limited. The only way, I can tell, is to display it through the head unit would be to cast it from the phone.

Just an update for who cares.. got the oem charger for the tab. Works now. But since using it for a while now, the tab is kinda sluggish and doesn't update the sensors as fast as my phone did. And the tilt/pitch widgets would lock up. I'm due for a phone upgrade in February so I will probly end up using my current phone after its deactivated. Although the charge port doesn't hardly hold the cable and it pops out all the time. Sigh. can't win with this shit. Shoulda gotten a better tablet. Oh well.

My tilt sensors lock up too of the phone is in upside-down portrait. My little 3.5" Incredible displays all the info I need, but all the dials are digital.

I don't want to try and search through all 28 pages and I've looked elsewhere but not found much.

Can the torque app read the transmission temperature on my 2000 4x4 auto? It doesn't show up on the main list but i have a transmission temp warning light so there has to be a sensor?

I got mine to work. I viewed the list of sensors without hiding the inactive ones. Because mine didn't show in the active list either. Selected both on screen. And one of them worked. I think it was the second one on the list iirc. See if that works.

" 1 Unit Type: °F (there is a degree symbol in Torque)"

For entering this value in torque, I don't see the degree symbol in Torque or my tablet. I have latest version of Torque. Haven't tried the app because Im still waiting for the bluetooth. Will an asterisk work?

Under the settings feature? On a mac, the º symbol is the OPTION 0 = º

you can also just copy it.

Question for everyone smarter than me.
I just got the dongle and Torque Pro 1.8.**.
I set up the custom PIDs for TFT 1 & 2 as described for my '09.
Unfortunately, I'm getting readings of 0°F (or -17.8°C) from both sensors.
When I run the 'Test' feature after setting up the PID, it tells me...

    Result for equation: 0.0
    Command: 21d9
    Response:0: 61D90D000000

Can anyone shed some light on why I may not be getting proper readings?

Boy, that's jogging the memory there... I want to say I ran into that result value at some point during the initial experiments... My first instinct would be to double check the formula strings for case and space, but that probably doesn't explain the 0 result on the first section. Did you get that after idling for a while, or right at engine start?

The formula is copied and pasted from this forum... I've attached screenshots for both PIDs... I get reading/resilt result each and every time I check it, after start, idling, that driving, etc. Same thing every time.

    Thanks for the help :)

Anyone have problems entering the equation on a Samsung Galaxy S III? Mine says there is a parenthesis error. I've tripled checked it and I entered it correctly. The error goes away if I remove some of them, like this: ((E*256)+F)*(7/100)-400/10 . I suspect this will give a faulty reading. Anyone know how to fix this? The exact error code reads: Equation: Check parentheses. I've Googled it and nothing comes up.

Have you tried the formulas for the 2010+? Maybe your 2009 was manufactured late enough. Just thinking out loud ...

I run this on my 2011 and it works just fine.

    For sensor 1 (Pan Temp):

    OBD2 Mode and PID:
    21D9

    Long Name:
    Transmission Fluid Temperature 1

    Short Name:
    TFT 1

    Minimum Value:
    0.0

    Maximum value:
    220.0

    Scale factor:
    x1

    Unit Type:
*F (there is a degree symbol in Torque to use in place of the *)

    Equation:
    ((((E*256)+F) * (7/100) – 400)/10)

    OBD Header to use:
    left blank

For sensor 2 (Converter outlet temp):

    OBD2 Mode and PID:
    21D9

    Long Name:
    Transmission Fluid Temperature 2

    Short Name:
    TFT 2

    Minimum Value:
    0.0

    Maximum value:
    220.0

    Scale factor:
    x1

    Unit Type:
*F (there is a degree symbol in Torque to use in place of the *)

    Equation:
    ((((G*256)+H) * (7/100) – 400)/10)

    OBD Header to use:
    left blank

    Okay here's something interesting.
    Tried '10+ settings = no result/no data
Tried 21D9 + '09 formula = a functional value! Just reading much too low.
Only had a couple minutes late last night to play with it.
I'm thinking it must not like something in the '09 copy/paste vs the '10 copy and paste so I'm going to manually re-enter everything today and hope for the best.
    I'll report back.
Thanks again for all the help!
