Airaid

I have a Flowmaster but was thinking about adding an cold air intake (airaid). Is it worth the money to do so?

I did the product search and came up with 2 of them. They look more like luke-warm air intakes though...

 

Is a cold air intake(URD) better than a typically air intake(Airaid)? Looking for better performance and mpg if possible.

Well hold on there, I just said I found an Air Raid intake, that's not the best thing you can put on your truck. The stock intake is a cold air intake in that it draws cold air from the fender (outside of the engine bay). That Air Raid intake will draw in warm air from the engine bay. The URD kit is a better set-up but you need to be careful with water ingestion if you off road. The URD is better coupled with their MAF calibrator. The AFE Stage 2 Si seems to be another intake that is pretty well liked around here and draws cold air in from the same place the stock intake does.

The most cost effective thing you can do to improve your truck's intake is get a drop in filter like an AFE or TRD and throw it in the stock intake.

Did you decide on an intake? I was also thinking about the Airaid intake.

 

Ok I have the Airaid Intake.... It pulls air from the fender well IE the same place the stock intake does. It is Part # 510-301

I did not but I did purchase a permanent air filter.
