Built for maximum low end torque, tooter II.VII intake manifold spacer, LCE long tube header, Injen long tube intake, 2,900 rpm torque peak.
    In my opinion, no.

I installed an 18" Magnaflow with the stock tailpipe on my 2.7 and lost low end torque. And even though when I reinstalled the stock muffler and cut the tailpipe behind the rear axle, I still got the low end back.

So from this experience, I learned that the engine needs some exhaust backpressure for low end pull. If you open up the exhaust, you'll likely gain more performance at high rpms, but it will come at the cost of low end torque.

I'm running a long tube LCE exhaust header before I had changed the stock muffler...

It keeps the exhaust pulses in the runners separated from each other for a longer distance. This creates a resonant tuning of the pulses which lowered the rpms needed to achieve peak torque by 650 on the dyno. But even with the exhaust header, I still needed the stock muffler to provide enough backpressure for efficient exhaust scavenging at low rpms.

I had a wicked flo and I was not happy with it. Went with flowmaster original and like it a lot more.

2.7 liter in 2004 tacoma Flowmaster muffler flowing to dual pipes. Looks and sounds great, nice deep rumble and doesn't sound like a 4 cylinder.

Probably wouldn't be to hard to find out who makes the TRD mufflers/exhaust systems for them.

My guess would be Borla, I'm pretty sure borla was making the TRD exhaust for a while. But I could be wrong...

I wanna see this, Something I've been wanting to do for a while, I wouldn't be changing my muffler though, just getting the mandrel bent piping needed, I'm very pleased with the sound of this 14"x4" round Magnaflow muffler.
