Mine smoked alot! for about 5-10 min. Good thing I live on 5 acres, out in... no where! lol. I drove around and red lined it a couple of times and it helped alot with my idle, now I just gotta check my MPG's.

I did about 1/3 of the can, but I kinda think I should've done a little more.

So if i read the directions correct..........you disconnect the brake boost Vaccum line WHILE the truck is running and pour 1/3 to 1/2 into it then turn off the truck......wiat 5 minutes.........then turn it on to clean it out...........correct.

Yep. BUT, pur it in slowly. If you just dump it in, you can hydrolock your engine.

Have done the same on some olddd engines. I have also used the sea foam on some late model vehicles and did not notice near the amount of smoke that the trans fluid produced.

I'm not sure if it was just a coincidence or not, but the last time i used sea foam on a late model pickup of mine I threw a trouble code for a faulty o2 sensor shortly there after. Used as prescribed, and ended up having to replaced the sensor. This could have been a coincidence but I'm not sure

when i do mine...........i usually shove the hose into the can, and when it feels like the engine is about to shut off.....i'll pull the hose out a bit, then back in. never have had a problem doing it this way either. and the difference is a great impovement in the way the truck idles and all.

So I must have a pretty clean engine................sea foamed it today just like you guys said. When I started it back up after the 5 minutes........I got a small amount of smoke for about a minute, but could definately smell carbon coming outta the exhuast.........took it for a run down the road. I must say its a noticable improvement over how it was before.

Is all this necessary? Just curious.

Aren't these engines pretty tight and efficient and not needing anything like this?

I mean if it's that good wouldn't the dealer do it?

Not arguing here, just playing devil's advocate and trying to get answers before I do it.

If you get the 120 dollar fuel injection service they do it at the dealer, or you can go get a can for under 10 dollars and do it yourself

Um..............no unless he dumps the can in at once instead of trickling it in. dumping it in.............you can Hydrolock the engine like Chris4x4 siad. Just take your time and do it slowly.
