URD Cold Air Intake

I just installed the URD Cold Air Intake.

I'd heard great things about it but was nervous about cutting into the sheet metal in the engine bay and didn't have much experience soldering.

Well i did it. And its awesome. Its pretty reserved in my opinion until you get on it. Then it really screams. Very nice.

Anyway the reason i'm posting this is two fold. 1) Its my first modification I've done on my new truck. 2) When I was researching this intake I wished there were some more pictures of the install. So I took some through my process. Hopefully this helps someone else.

I highly recommend getting the Injen shield for thr air filter. Highly. From URD as well.

 

this is real cool I like how simple the design is. the filter seems a little small. also does it throw a check light? I need to cut out that part of the sheet metal too and didnt want to, too nervous. check out my project intake.

x2 and i did the slip on pre filter as well. i drive in heavy rain, no issues!

 

Do you guys see any performance or MPG improvement with this, or is it just louder?

I have a supercharger on my truck and i definitely noticed some gains. There are probably some to be had on a naturally aspirated truck, but they will be less noticeable. Definitely flows way more than the stock airbox though
