Anyone tried the water injection kit on a 4.0 taco? I hear if you run rubbing alcohol or windshield washer fluid it increases fuel mileage by about 10% and steam cleans the inside of the intake and piston tops, valves etc.

Alcohol has less energy than gasoline.
You would be adding extra fuel making the mixture too rich, so the computer will lean out and you might save a little on gas, but the cost of the alcohol (which rubbing alcohol has a lot of water in it) will more than offset any minor fuel savings.
It'll probably throw a CEL code, might damage the engine.

Yes the plan is to convert to diesel just was thinking about every possible fuel economy gain as we may be seeing $5.00+ fuel prices if the current clown gets another 4 years in office...

Why? Are you running forced induction? If not, there's no point

My buddy has a water/methanol injection kit on his 650 whp Supra. It works pretty well on there but he does it for detonation reasons when he's running high boost pressures. It's funny watching guys running race gas in their vehicles freak when they would see him fill up with pump gas, then bust their ass. He had the tank and pump hidden under a false floor where the backseat was.
