Hi I was wondering how my v6 01 Tacoma would sound if I took the muffler off ns put a piece of pipe it's place? Would it sound like shit or would it sound pretty nice thanks for any info.

Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
youtube. its not exactly my taste. it sounds ok below 1800 rpms the gets pretty raspy and backfiery after that. instead of just a pipe i would find a glass pack personally that was close to that length and put it there in place, cut down on some annoyance and if u ever go on a long road trip you'll be glad you did.

it really depends whether you have a standerd or automatic. if its an auto, dont even bother, but if u got a standerd then it can sound good.

Isn't Hawaii pretty strict on exhaust?

Sounds like garbage from what I've seen on YouTube. IMO old V8's and straight 6's are the only thing that sound good unmuffled.

When I was doing my exhaust, I had no pipe for a day. It was raspy as hell, my Super 10 is much deeper.

Well on my 2nd Gen, i'm running no muffler haha. some people really dont like the idea..but i like the sound of it...and even the guy at the muffler shop was like, damn that sounds nice and clean, he could have been saying that just to make me happy, but i was happy either way haha. I think it's perfect, sounds super deep at low rpms, and then when i lay on it's wayyy to loud haha. Also, you can try it if you can get a muffler shop to cut the muffler off and weld in a pipe for cheap, if thats to loud, put a glass pack in..if thats still to loud go with a magnaflow. Then again i'm a obnoxious 19 year old right?

The only problem you might have is if you want to put a muffler back on, your exhaust pressure will be different. My friend did this with his Cummins, and blew his head gasket, but that still didn't stop him from cutting his new system off. Haha

    Not really.

A lot of my friends straight-piped their Duramaxes. The turbo is a very effective muffler.

Of course, you're then listening to unmuffled TURBO!

Yea straight piped diesels aren't necessarily crazy loud as far as the exhaust note but the turbo sounds awesome.

As far as the Taco, not my thing. I've heard few vehicles straight piped I liked. Then again I personally don't think the 4.0 has a great exhaust note regardless of setup.
