So im getting ready to swap a 5.3 into my 03 double cab and am going to go awd also
My main question is what did you do with the cv axles
Were they just the stock ones? If so that cool dont know of anyone offering stronger cvs besides rcv and they kinda have a crap rep

When are you going to post some super duper awd doughnut vids? Maybe you can give Werty a run for his money...

Now I know what my X-Runner will look like after that 4.0 engine goes. It's taking oil and not sure why, only 97000 km(55500 mile) on it and good compression( 205 to 210 on all 6). Have to check oil every gas tank fill. Never use to in 4.5 years and bang! where's the oil going?? I'm going to start saving some money for the swap. Will be asking a lot of question at the SEMA show next month in Vegas.

Have you checked the coolant for oil?

Everything checks out. Coolant clean , compression good, plugs had a black deposit, same as the O2S. Made myself an oil/air catch can. Will check after and full tank of gas to see if any excess oil is being sucked in that way. Check it and has good vacuum and PCV valve
