Loud exhaust

What makes like Honda civic and little rice burning cars so much louder than my truck or 4 cyl truck I see. I have a cherry bomb and straight pipe where the cat was, and it's loud but doesn't seem to be as loud as these. Wondering why, is it that big tip or what?

 

would you really want your truck to sound like that? every time i see one of those it makes me shudder. always hear it before i see it. sounds like a pissed off blender.

 

Lol I don't want it to sound like it, just have been curious as to why it's so much louder.

 

The fart can reverberates sound differently so it can be louder. Same concept with motorcycle exhaust.
