I do not like RP in my cars. I have RP gear oil in the transmission in my mazda and I hate it. Never really was a fan of the oils either.

I remember watching SpikeTV over a year ago, they changed all the fluids on a late model Camaro with Royal Purple fluids and ended up getting like 11hp on the dyno.. that tells me RP has to be doing something right.. I personally have only used that in my tranny in my miata. I might do a whole fluid swap in it though..

That is a pretty broad statement... I am curious to know your reasoning?

I am a mechanic in the Coast Guard, I run RP in all equipment that I can, last summer I decided to do a little test.. I changed the oil in two Yamaha 225 outboard engines, one with quaker state, and the other with RP.

The sound difference between the two engines was worth it in its self! However, I hooked up the lap top to both engines. WOW! The engine with RP was in much better shape, the MPG were a couple numbers higher! But more importantly the engine was running about 15 degrees cooler at idle, and almost 25 degrees cooler at 4500 rpm..

The thing that amazed me the most was on start up.. The engine with quaker state took almost 1 minute to register any kind of oil pressure from a cold start.. The engine with RP took about 6 seconds to register full oil psi... Awesome!

I will take my chances with RP!

I use it in my taco. I like it better than peasant blue oil.
