Boost port???

About to install the PLX boost module on a 2010 for a TRD blower. Can anyone suggest/inform what fitting do I need for the boost port and where exactly located on the aft side of the sc? A pic would be helpful.

Also installing an A/F plx gauge as well. Any suggestion on where to mount these tow modules and where did you tap into switched power for the modules?

Sorry so many questions in one post, the will show up Tuesday and I'm sure there will be some general instructions with them. Just looking for some specifics to get prepared for the instal.

The boost reference port is the nipple with the orange vinyl cap near the cooler lines, top side close to rear of housing.
I haven't had my nipple cap off yet, but it looks like a 1/4" fitting

Seriously? I thought there was a brass plug on the back side, figured boost would blow off that plastic cap,

If so, that makes installation a bit easier

Yup seriously. If you are hooking up a boost gauge you will hook your hose to that nipple on top with the orange cap on it.

Slide a 3/16" rubber hose on top of the fitting and you'll be fine, I've got a FPR (fuel pressure regulator) mod done but no boost gauge. Still had to use my boost port, with 9 psi that hose has not popped off whatsoever lol then it's as simple as a tee to connect the boost gauge in that line.

I searched around a little and see some using aftermarket FPR's but not much talk on why, gain, or cost...

The simplest way of explaining without gettin into to much details is that the purpose for the FPR is to increase the capacity of your injectors. The way it does this is that the regulator makes fuel pressure and boost pressure a 1:1 ratio with the boost from your supercharger. So with every psi that's coming out of the supercharger will raise the fuel pressure by that much.

So im running roughly 9psi of boost with the 2.7 pulley. Static fuel pressure is 43.5psi. With the FPR Mod the 9psi of boost will raise fuel pressure to 52.5psi when your in boost for you don't max out your injectors duty cycle at high RPM's

Making sense? lol

Very easy to install and you can get one for about $150 after getting some hoses and fittings maybe $200?

Not that I know of, easier buying an adjustable aftermarket one with a bigger diaphragm than OEM since OEM is set for one specific pressure

but you will have to put your boost line to the OEM fuel regulator when you install your boost gauge, heard it helps a bit with injectors but I'm not 100% sure on the OEM one

question... are the upsream o2 sensors AFR sensors and the downstream o2 sensors narrow band? got my plx gauges in and dont know where to put the new sensor.

caled PLX and they said if you can replace a narrow band one and run the grey wire to the ECM to trick the computer into functioning normally.

Called gadget at URD racing and he said you cant do that, you have to buy bung and cut a hole and weld in the new sensor... (weak sauce)

where do i put this damn new o2 sensor? and any info on installing the grey wire to ECM would be helpfull too.

I'm sure you could input the wifeband signal into the ECM...but if you use an existing bung for the wideband sensor, you will only be reading one bank of the engine. All the advice I got was to put the bund into the collector in the y pipe to read all the exhaust, not just one of the two banks.

Simplest way is to simply install an extra bung in the y-pipe collector IF you have a straight through exhaust




If you still have your cats then I dunno if that will affect the sensor after the cats so you might be stuck reading one bank by putting the sensor before the cats
