Just wondering kinda a silly question but does the TRD tacoma's exhaust differ from just a base v6 4.0 exhaust. Does the TRD just have a tip or a completely diff. exhaust system? or is a TRD exhaust for that truck an extra you have to purchase separate?

The TRD package does not come with an upgraded exhaust different than a base v6. You would have to buy the TRD cat back exhaust from the dealer or other marketplace

The only TRD package that come with an actual TRD exhaust are the TX pros and the TX baja Series

if ur not going supercharged, ur more than likely just fine leaving stock pipes and just having a new muffler welded in if u want a different sound.

Dont worry about any "TRD loyalty" crap either......... toyota contracts manufacturers to make air filters, intakes, shocks, blowers, exhausts, etc...... Your no better off buying a trd anything. the older intakes are the same as AFE minus the port at the bottom, the exhaust is made by Bosal, shocks are bilstein or I think tokico depending on the truck.

So dont feel pressured to keep everything "TRD"

The newest intake for the 2005-2011 with the "TRD" name on it is actually made by K&N and is based off of a 4runner/FJ supplied intake for mock up.... K&N screwed up and this intake causes check engine lights on most tacomas, and I believe its a lean condition.

TRD is not the end all be all......... Dont buy it for the hype...... Its like buying a stainless steel picture frame made in china from walmart, and then engraving it with "Tiffany&Co".
