I have a 2011 Tacoma with the 4.0 six cylinder, stock except for a K&N filter. 6 speed manual transmission.
In the first few gears, I shift ~ 2300 to 2500 rpms in normal driving. When I shift, the rpms remain high for a couple of seconds before dropping. Is this normal? Even though my foot is off the gas pedal, it will actually gain a few rpms (50 to 75) when I push in the clutch. Seems like a waste of fuel and it's annoying.
