I'm sure this has happened before, but when I was out wheeling I seemed to have pinched the tailpipe kinking it about halfway shut. Not sure if this is a problem but I was worried that it might be restrictive or affect gas mileage. Haven't seen any negative effects yet. Question is, would I be ok leaving it like this or should I cut it off at the turndown behind the axle like I've seen some of the guys do on here? I don't see any other way to fix it...

Cut it. Now. Do not wait.

If your windpipe was closed about 50% it wouldn't work well for you either.

I had a similar problem with my old Camaro and was told fix it immediately or risk maybe blowing a valve out, among other things. Don't wait on it..the little bit of time or money to cut that part of it off is well spent.

Sawzall and about 30 seconds will take care of that problem.

Thanks for the responses guys. Chris I didn't realize how bad it could be in the long run so you convinced me. I ended up just cutting it off right after the first mount. It was definitely restricted because after I did it, the exhaust actually got quieter and the truck seemed to get up to speed slightly quicker.
