So I was thinking about ordering a CAI and noticed you can buy a cover for the air filter which helps to keep extra dust and gunk out. Does anyone recommend getting this? Does it restrict airflow?

I ran the urd intake without a prefilter unless it was pouting rain... There's no intake on the market that puts an element in a more exposed location than the urd. Anthony runs the urd on his rig and he loves the sand/dirt and I dont think he runs a sock.

    Ymmv of course.

I only ran it for the hydrophobic properties, and yes it did affect performance imho....Thats why I only ran it when in downpours.
