First of all thanks to Dan for an awesome write up, much appreciated!! Kudos my friend.

Now, I have read this thread from beginning to end and being the moron that I am still have some questions. Mainly, I have a 2013 Tacoma Double Cab 4.0L V6 that has a TRD Super Charger installed. I know that there are three versions of the catch can available:
1: ADD W1 Oil catch can
    2: ADD W1 Oil catch Can Ver1
    3: ADD W1 Oil catch Can Ver2
Also, the version 2 is available with or without a breather.
So my main question is this: What version/configuration of the catch can do you think I need? Any help/advice is GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks again OP and all of you for the great input and ideas.
    Ken

I received mine in the mail today and Dan was right, it is a quality product. I really like the design, and the fact that there is a dip-stick so you don't have to remove the cup to check the level every time. It is MUCH smaller than I thought it would be (there is a bad joke in there somewhere:)), but I really like the setup.
One thing I didn't know was that the catch can is for "Off Road Use Only". I guess I will have to figure a way to disconnect it without too much trouble for when I take it in the get smogged per the Nazi rule in CA. Any suggestions?
Thanks guys, and thanks OP for the tip on the catch can.

One more question, I found a "Catch Can Install Guide" thread here on TW, but have not found one for the V6 with Super Charger. Anyone know how to hook it up with a SC? Pics would be AWESOME, just need to know where to run the hoses to.
    Thanks,
    Ken

I had installed the ADD-W1 shortly after getting this truck after reading this thread (and others), but really only expected it to collect a minor amount of oil. Well, that was all that happened until I unexpectedly had to use the truck to haul my father-in-laws belongings in a 5X8 Uhaul trailer from Knoxville, TN, to Washington state. Had the cab and bed loaded, along with a completely loaded trailer. The truck got a good workout climbing all of the mountains on that journey. After getting back home (Kansas City area), I got the oil changed for its 15,000 mile change. Just remembered to check the oil can this afternoon. It was full of oil. I'm now a believer! It had not accumulated much at all during normal driving, but the strain of pulling a full load over that distance filled it up. Am so grateful that all that oil did not get pulled into the intake/valves. Thank you Detective Dan for this thread!

Finally got the catch can installed. Looked at a few different install options and just decided to fab a bracket to bolt to a hole that was plugged with a rubber plug on the fender well.
Here is a picture of the bracket I made attached to the catch can. I drilled several holes to bolt to the can in case I needed to raise or lower the height.

Here is another shot of the can and bracket. I also install a rubber buffer so that the can would sit level and to take up some shock absorption.
Here are some pics of the can installed. I did cover a couple of the various vacuum lines with some wire loom to protect them from rubbing against the braided SS line.

Too bad the pics didn't show the SS line and anodized end links, it turned out really good and looks great.
Thanks to everyone who helped. Thanks to Awf Rowd for the part numbers and Detective Dan for the tips on the ADD W1.

8 oz in 5,000 miles is a fair amount. i don't get the reasoning with the breather. if you put a breather i n the mix, it interrupts the flow of air from the rocker covert to the intake. so, instead of pulling oil vapor from the cover, it just pulls air through the breather.

Breather should only be for the vent to atmosphere setup.

The California Vehicle Code section that covers this is CVC 27651(c). No person shall install, sell, offer for sale, or advertise any device, apparatus, or mechanism intended for use with, or as a part of, a required motor vehicle pollution control device or system that alters or modifies the original design or performance of the motor vehicle pollution control device or system.

No way around that technically. As far as smog certification though, your motor should actually be running cleaner. I don't think installing one would make your exhaust gasses worse.

Not sure if a smog shop would even catch it.

Thanks for that info. You are probably right about the smog shop not catching it, but you never know. There are just too damn many "laws" in CA. Pretty soon, saying the word "Gun" will be illegal.

Yea but modifying vehicles in Cali never stopped anyone before lol. Just put it back to stock before smogging. Takes like 5 minutes

Well, if you have a SC installed it can take a little while to get the hose off of the PCV valve and reinstalled. I think I would just leave them connected, but disconnect them from the catch can and connect the two ends of the hose that went to the catch can together. Then I would have to take off the AFE CAI and reinstall the factory intake:(

I did this for my first gen Tacoma this weekend. I think I got Version 2 of the catch can and it works just fine and it was only $58 shipped.
