I have googled what i can about this but have not found a straight answer. i believe that there is no TRD air intake for the 2013 Tacoma? the CAI is not compatible? I have had a K&N on every vehicle and have no complaints with any of them.

Does anyone have a 2013 Tacoma with TRD S/C with either the TRD Cold Air Intake or K&N or any other for that matter?

There is the upgraded air intake system that came with the S/C, but i have always liked the look & sound of the open air filter design like K&N.

And as a side note, got a boost gauge installed today. I am reading 21 on the vacuum at idle and 5 on the boost when i floor it. I am not sure if those are the #'s I should be reading or normal. But it is fun to watch nonetheless.

    Thanks for any replies.

Your boost numbers are pretty close to where they should be. As for your intake, for the love of all things holy please DO NOT buy a K&N. Ill just leave it at that. I would look into a closed box style AFE, TRD (I'm not sure if they make them for the new trucks), or even a Volant. Something closed box style that pulls air from the wheel well is best. Do you have an AFR gauge?

I'd go with AFE Stage 2 SI. I've seen problems with the Volant and it's design. I also planned to get the Volant with air scoop but seeing and reading about the check engine light going off on the Volant, I changed my plans to getting the AFE and modded the Volant air scoop to my AFE cai

if you have a scan gauge, have you seen lower intake temps with the volant air scoop than without it?

I have the scan gauge. without the scoop it's 10 degrees hotter when I'm moving. With the scoop and moving, it's at ambient temp which is what the outside temp would be so it can't be any cooler then that. Worth every penny IMO

did you have to move the air pump or is that where it is located on the 13's? my 14 has it in the middle of the passenger side.

I had Volant with scoop with my TRD Supercharger and AF was all over the place. Swapped to AFE Stage 2 Pro5R and it's spot on!

My AFE comes with a relocation bracket that the air pump sits on. It sits where the air box will be at.

I see you're looking at glowshift. I learned from my 20psi boosted WRX to NOT skimp on gauges. Look into reputable, accurate gauges liked Defi, Prosport, or somethin. Accurate gauges especially when it comes to AFR are important. Also, I quickly learned that electronic boost gauges do not read accurate at any sort of altitude. Mechanical (hose from back of gauge directly to boost lines) gauges are way more accurate.

If u have a scangauge u can see that stock will pull ambient temps at about 40 mph....
    U can't beat ambient temps.
I've ran the urd (can u get colder than an exposed air filter without an icebox?).... And it read....... Ready for it?....... Ambient at ~40

Afe stage 2 si also read........... Ready?........
    Ambient at ~40mph.

Unless ur doing idle iat racing, ur pretty much not gunna beat stock for temps..... Go with intakes based off of the routing instead. U want a nice clear path with no resonators/baffles/silencers/chambers/in needed bends.

Afe stage 2 si is run by many here and on xru both na and force fed...... The oem limiting factor is those items above (un needed bends/chambers/baffles/etc). NOT iat.

This is not always true. And it depends on the piping of the pressure line. I found my defi electronic was dead nuts accurate up to 38psi (C16). the pressure sending unit i had placed with a 4 inch hose so that there were never much of any fluctuations of pressure differences. But nonetheless i agree on getting reputable monitoring solutions.

this. my glowsports had issues. they would randomly work then stop then randomly work. they always turned on and lit up but would not read anything or would. this would happen for months at a time.

defi and prosport both make excellent gauges but be prepared to pay the price. they also have an awesome linking system to eliminate wiring each gauge.
