    Levelling kit and 33"tires
I have a 2009 tacoma with a leveling kit and 285/75 R16 tires. Everything else is stock. I want to add some HP but don't want to sacrifice a lot of MPG. I know a turbo is an expensive option but I am more interested in a CAI and an exhaust system that will work together with it. Anyone have any success with adding horse power with a CAI and exhaust system? Which systems would you recommend. Does a TRD after market system exist?
My driving style uses lower RPMS as I don't have a lead foot. I often drive with low load not hauling at all. I just want my truck to perform better as it can struggle to turn those tires on hills. I'm sure i'm not the only one with this problem. Any solutions?

Welcome to TW! Re gearing to 4.10's will give the best performance gain, and return lost mpg.

There are few bolt-ons that will give you much of anything at low rpms. Engine is about as efficient as it can get at anything <3500 rpm, some gains on some items at 3500+. Short-tube headers are probably the closest thing, but between the header costs and cost to weld the cats back on, not a cheap alternative. Only other thing I've seen that claims to increase low-end is an intake manifold spacer, but the data on that is still questionable IMO, although it does get positive seat of the pants reviews. Gears can help, as mentioned, but come at a cost of highway milage.

For low end just swap out the muffler with stock exhaust, I went with a 18" round(not too loud but you hear it), I did a 2 1/2" exhaust and lost some low end power.

Change the air filter and do the intake spacer...
you will pick up a lot of power....

fastest and cheapest way for more power is Nitrous Oxside, but far from recommended. CAI and exhaust alone will do very little to increase more HP But swap out your cam and reprogram you ecu and youve made some power!!!! or just SC the thing.

If he swaps out just one cam, it might not have the intended desired effect. ;)

Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
Intake manifold spacers move the tq curve down a bit in rpms but that means sacrice in upper rpms. There is a group buy somewhere around here i think for around $200
