So after searching concerns with cutting exhaust above axle I found nothing. Those of you who did this, any issues or regrets?

Being stopped a light lets exhaust fumes back into the cab at times.

I guess I could see that! No issues with loss of back pressure on exhaust or anything related?
Would it be louder? I like that its a cleaner look and less to get caught when wheeling!

I have no regrets no cons or side effects etc. I've never had fumes come back into the cab either.

Doesn't make it any louder since its after the muffler. Muffler gives it back pressure so no worries there either. The ONLY issues I've seen/heard is that exhaust fumes can leak into the cab. I've smelt it on one of the AZ guys trucks when we were stopped at a light.

Helps a lot with wheeling for sure.

this. I cut mine a few weeks ago. haven't noticed any fumes coming into the cab. it's a little bit louder at the 1500 to 2100 RPM range, but only maybe 5 to 10 dB louder. plus, my wife hasn't even noticed yet... I haven't told her :D

5-10db is a lot louder. Are you sure you are just not hearing it echo under the bed?

I've been unable to sell my cut off exhaust tip.

    Other than that, no problems

I cut mine over 3 years ago. I dumped an MRBP muffler right before the axle. I have never smelled fumes inside the truck. It is louder inside of the cab because the exhaust is no longer going out the back but stuck under the truck and bouncing off things. That part of it can be a little annoying at times, the resonance. I have thought about sticking it out to the side a little before the rear wheels to get rid of some of the resonance under the bed.

I like the clean look of not having all the excess piping in the way (I would probably have done it sooner or later fitting a full 285 spare in the stock location) and the peace of mind of not getting hung up on any obstacles. No odor or fumes in the cab either.

What about for emissions or do they not care if it's been cut?

I chopped mine off about a month ago. I have not smelled any exhaust fumes whatsoever and I always drive with my windows down. I used a saws-all.

Emission places in AZ don't care as long as they can get to it and you have a muffler installed.

I threw on a aero turbine muffler and put a turn down before the axle. I've never smelled exhaust at a stop and I like not having to worry about hitting my tailpipe on rocks and stuff

I am guessing they only care about everything before the o2 sensor. Haven't had emissions yet and they do it ever 2 years here..owned it for 2 years :notsure:
