On a stock exhaust the DT longtubes will yeild a greater gain than the URD y-pipe..... the one benefit of the y-pipe for you especially is that you gain the clearance where the pipe is no longer hanging below the crossmember so you dont have to worry about smashing it while wheeling.

so running the urd y-pipe with the rest stock wont hinder performance or sound like crap?

It wil not hinder performance. It may give you a little resonance but shouldn't sound like crap.

not stock exhaust at all but heres what mine sounds like

What is this terminology you speak of? (F/I Setups, DTLT's)

Whoa! That was fast.. Thanks man.. This was a very good thread for me because I'm actually looking at getting Doug Thorley Long Tube hearders with URD's Y Pipe configuration for my 2008 Tacoma V6 4.0L.. I already have a TRD Cat back exhaust, but, I really don't want my ears to bleed(the consensus is it's pretty flippin loud)

So, I have a 2008 Tacoma(V6 4.0L) with a TRD Cat Back Exhaust(& TRD CAI). I really want to get the Doug Thorley Long Tube Headers and URD's Y Pipe configuration, but, I'm afraid that I will lose some of my torque AND it being to damn loud. Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you.

Oh wow! That sounds good. I noticed a little bit of "raspyness" when you first punched it, but, after that, nothing... Is there anything you don't like about the setup(Tones, vibrations, raspynesss, etc).

I will say, losing the low end torque scares me a bit. I'm doing all these upgrades to have more power for the Mountains in the mud, not for the street. And from what I've done research on, Dyno Tuning doesn't solve all the problems. Plus, it's hella EXPENSIVE..

I have a y pipe right now in mix with a lot of other aftermarket materials and it sounds great. Honestly it's hard not to peel out if i hit the gas, great sound with the trd exhaust and the supercharger. Definitely worth it to me.

This is the only reason I would get one, think it's worth it? Or just get m current set up re routed? Also why is it not CA legal?
