Regearing to 4.56's

Regearing to some 4.56 to tow some heavy shizzzzz can't wait truck goes in tomorrow will regear and do UCA from ICON ( Donahoe )

 

What do yall think give me some feedback please

 

What are you towing that you are regearing like that??

 

26 ft lite weight toyhauler, boat ,dirtbikes bout 8 of them anything my lil taco can tow I will be towing plus i have a lift and some 33 so I want it back to stock and I know I;m overdoing it but they don't make 4.33 for our trucks or do they?

 

I'm not sure...I'm trying to learn everything that I can about gearing- So I was wondering what your thoughts on it were to throw the 4.56's in there.

When I lifted the truck I lost some bottom end power and gained some top end; so I want my bottom end power plus when I am towing in high altitude the truck lags big time. They said if I regear I will get some bottom end power back and would help in higher altitudes. Downside to that I will loose top end power and my gas mileage will be affected right know I go 80mph and I am at 2300 rpms when I regear it will be higher how much higher I don't know.......

 

PLus there are some dunes in Pismo Beach that my truck could just not make it up unless I get a running start. When regeared I will try and start from a dead stop at the bottom of the sand dunesand floor it should be able to get up with no problemo.... Ihope

 

which dunes at pismo? the bigger ones near the back end by the fence line?

 

I don't know but it's the one where everyone at night goes to race the sandrails dune buggies or quads and very few and I only see the badass rigs make it up from a dead stop everone else has to get a running start

 

you talkin bout comp hill.... you airing down? cause i get up it from a dead stop at the bottom. i race other trucks up it everytime i go, we all stop at the bottom just before the whoops start

 

you know what I don't know if that's is the same one (competion hill)last time i didn't air down much at all.... but I remeber goin with my buddy and he was talking shit because we couldn't make it up the dune and I said never again will he talk shit he's a FORD enthusiast and that weekend I pulled a ford ranger out as well as a ford bronco a ford f350 out of sand with my taco but was diappointed i couldn't make it up from a dead stop so here I'm regearing the truck hope it works... Plus i think this truck is gonna turn into a toy not a daily driver anymore

 

Hey i was wondering how much higher is ur RPMs on the freeway after the 4.56 are installed. like with my stock gears im doing 2100 rms at 70mph

 

Don't know I checked with SilverBACK 07 he's running the same gears and he said he lost 1-2 mpg and stated fuel light comes on about 210 or 215.

You get that mpg hauling that boat. I get 13 or less hauling my 16' trailer with a shell of a car on it. WTF. On my drive to Galveston tomorrow I'll see what loop I am ending up with.

thanks, yea i was just wandering because i was thinking of doing the 4.56 cause im going to be running 33" tires when i get mid travel and still want my truck to pull my master craft.
