Noticed that flex-a-lite finally made a model specific electric fan kit for the 01 to present Tacoma's. Anyone here installed one of these yet? Any MPG or dyno numbers?

I have an '04 (1st gen) some guy in california has a thread to put a universal flex-a-lite on instead. <http://www.samsonfab.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=11> It's at least $100 bucks cheaper I think. I don't know about mpg or dyno. If you wait about a month I'll let you know on the mpg though.

I researched this thouroughly and someone wieghed the old one. It was something like 6lbs. I do a lot of highway where a fan is not needed and I would imagine it should save me adecent amount. (i'm hoping around 1mpg)

I hope you get more than 1 MPG and can't wait to see your results. I too am interested in replacing my fan with an electric one.

Also, I'm done a quick search and I see some people have converted over to an electric fan but I have found no statement on performance gains other than speculation. I know HP will show a gain but how much MPG gain is there?

And I think I would enjoy not hearing that fan roar in the early AM when I'm headed to work. It's pretty loud in the garage.
