Fuel Gauge Reading

As you most likely know, our (2nd gen tacoma owners) fuel gauges act pretty inconsistently. For example I usually get to the F line with 60 miles done on the tank. Then it plummets until about half, then slows way down until 1/4 when I usually fuel up again.

Just for curiosity's sake, what is your typical mileage at 1/2 tank?

 

I usually average about 350 per tank... so i guess half i tank i get about 175.

 

it depends. I can always get atleast 200 on a half a tank. but the most ive had on a half i think is around 235 or so. and thats with mostly city driving

 

mine seems to go slow untill it shows a 1/2 tank, then the needle picks up the pace and goes down quiker.

 

right around 150 or so at half tank with the 4.0l .

 

same here.... i usually average around 340ish a tank but am at about 200 at the 1/2 full mark

 

im usualy getting about 250 a tank, i can get about 60 with the 1st 1/4 and about 120ish for the half. my mileage blows!!!

What % of the avg. miles you get per tank are achieved by the time you get to half a tank?


But this would require some math and then I think we would loose some members to either their heads blowing up or their computer (or their tv, dishwasher, vacuum, and lawnmower knowing some of you)

I filled up yesterday. When I hit 1/2 tank, I will vote.

 

That depends if I'm doing "normal" highway driving where I can get 220 or in western texas where the speed limit is 80 then I get maybe 170 - 180 on half a tank

Anywhere from 135-180 depending on how I drive.

 

I normally get from 90-100 miles per 1/4. I see about 200 miles at 1/2. Now after the 1/2 it seems i get less about 340 to the tank.

i usually get 200 on the top half and its all depends on how far i let the light stay on, havent had any problems putting 400 miles on 1 tank, my gauge seems pretty consistent on the most part, if i get more than 200 on the top half ill get over 20 mpg and if its around 180ish ill get 19 something

 

My head almost blew up just reading that! Oh. If someone's computer, tv, dishwasher, vacuum, or lawnmower is going to blow up please video it and post the vids. I'm interested in seeing all of that.
