Performance tuners/chips

I've been shopping around for performance tuners and chips for a 09 tacoma and have been unable to find ANYTHING. Can anybody point me in the right location? Should I be looking at those or just go with a Cold Intake for my first and possibly my only upgrade as far as the engine goes?

Since this is my first purchase and possibly my last, I need something that is going to give me a good little boost. Should I pursue something else? I am a complete noob when it comes to all of this. This tuner seems a little more involved than some of the other one's I seen on the net. There are some out there that give you a series of yes/no ques to tune the ride. Unfortunately none are out there like that for the 09. At least what I've found.

Should I pursue the cold air only? Not wanting to break the bank on this mod, but would be willing to spend up to 600 for it.

Nah thats a Diagnostic tool. It works well, Had one for my MAF Cali...

Im a hook you up with the Ultimate set up that will meet your Budget:

URD TCAI: $289

URD MAF Calibrator: $249

Contact Gadget @ URD. Your MAF Cali will come with MAP for URD TCAI. If you cant Solder, find a buddy who can, and the rest is a sinch. This will yeald the optimum performance within the Budget you stated.

You can purchase the LM-2 in the future to fine tune your truck, but for now the above two products are worth buying and proven...

Thanks again! I am very interested in the URD MAF Sensor Calibrator sense it is for totally stocked rides and seems to give a good boost for a few bucks.

One thing I havev read about the CAI's on tacoma's is that it already comes with a CAI and is worthless since it already comes with one or something close to it. Keep in mind, I'm a noob and no nothing and really appreciate your help! I've also done some reading that any CAI's that take oil or bad? Is the CAI located somewhere that would be suspect to getting wet often?

So, the URD MAF Sensor Calibrator isn't too hard to install?

Yeah my Bad...

First you need to tell me what you plan to do with your truck. If you plan on soaking your truck in a mud pond, then the URD intake is not for you. Im a Mall Crawling once an a blue moon trail rider. I want Power, Suspension and Looks. Im confused but I have done my homework

Yes the stock intake is CAI, via the location it gets air from. But the Intake setup, box and filter do not compete with URD for performance. Only reason I suggested this set up was cause you said you were looking for performance. If you want cheap and easy, thats another avenue of approach...

Maybe I should stay cheap and easy since this URD MAF Sensor Calibrator looks like this might give me a good, quick, cheap and easy fix. I hope easy anyway. Looks like the default settings it comes does a lot of good, so maybe no need to program it myself? Five wires and it's on? I guess that's where the soldering comes into play. Does this void the warrenty?

Only can void warranty if the Dealership can prove it caused the issue.

Man, it sounds really tempting but i'm afraid I'd blow my new toy up and not get any help from toyota and my wife would condenm me as a complete and total dumbass.

Dude, with those two Mods from URD, you will be straight. Plus you have URD Tech support, and the entire TW membership for Q&A/Trouble shooting.

Maybe I will think long and hard before committing to something like that, but I really appreciate your help!

Back to the CAI, I've heard a driver can notice a night and day difference with one. Is that true? Also, I don't offroad much other than going to my inlaws on some sand and occasional cattle guard. Can water from a rainy day puddles get water into the filter?

Not Really, it's a truck, not a Rice Burner with a ICEMAN or AEM intake thats like 6" off the ground

I have heard of a people having troubles with rain and the URD TCAI. Getting an intake that keeps the filter under the hood and away from the evironment is a safer bet, and you'll get the same power gains.

The URD MAF Cal is an affordable way to tweak the AFR for more performance, and get a healthier running engine.

Hey there XrunnIT, you are right down the street from me. I live in Pflugerville. I am new to all of this and can't decide what to do. I am leaning towards an upgrade, but my funds are slowly depleating. Should I go with the URD MAF Cal on a completely stock TRD sport truck or should I go with a cai. I don't want to mess with my warranty on my truck that has 400 miles on it so I have been leaning towards a TRD intake, but I am completely convinced I will screw something up when installing it. Should I just go with the MAF instead of a CAI? It might be a long time before I get to spend anymore money on my truck so I want to get something that will make a difference, but I also want to keep my truck legit as far as warranty goes.

HELP!!!

a CAI install is way easier to install then the MAF calib.

I would say go with the TRD intake. You'll get a bit of HP gain, and you'll also get an audible difference. For me, hearing your mods at work makes me feel better about doing them.

If you ever need help with any mods let me know man! I'm moving up to Manor this week/next week, so i'll be much closer.
