Where to buy dynomax?

I have seen some prices that people got quoted for the dynomax catback system on here. I was wondering where the cheapest place to get it from might be? Ive actually had trouble finding them. Ive called advance auto parts, 2 different locations, and neither could find it. Stupid people. Oreilly's said it would be $315

Also is ordering the whole catback worth it or would just the muffler be suffient?

just order a dynomax super turbo muffler off ebay and have a local shop weld it in for you...in place of the stock muffler. should be alot cheaper......and essentially the same as a catback.

That's what I was thinking but the cat back is 2.5 pipes and stock truck is 2.25 correct? Is that going to change any sound or power increase I might get?

Not Much...

If you have a shop weld it in you will have no issues.

If you tried to install yourself w/band clamps, you would be SOL...

Personally, I would just purchase the muffler of your choice and have a shop weld it in. I made the mistake and installed the Borla catback, and regret it every day.

You could install about 3 mufflers in a 5 year period and still be under cost of a Catback

i got the dynomax catback exhaust from summitracing.com. right now the price is $254.39. i believe the muffler it comes with is the Dynomax Performance 17219 - Dynomax Ultra Flo Welded Muffler. it is $72.95 also from summit and is stainless steel. i have had my exhaust for over a year now, and no problems. and it is a bolt on exhaust.

I'd suggest go with Magnaflow instead, much better build quality. Iam returning a Dynomax I ordered because of the poor workmanship of it.

See the quality inside of the Ultra Flow X muffler. Not good at all.

Ive been looking at mufflers and none of the dynomax say they fit the tacoma. Only the catback system. But i can match the numbers as far as inlet and outlet size. and i thought it would be best to get the same size muffler that comes with the catback system which is 14x19 and 4 1/2 by 9 3/4.

How did you guys choose which size muffler to get?

are you gonna get a shop to weld the muffler in? the inlet/outlet size dont have to match......they will flare out the ends to fit anyway.

The Borla sounded great over stock. But I never stopped at that point. Went straight to headers, Y-pipe mod, and so on.

Right now I have DTLT's, stock Y-pipe w/gutted Cats, resonator and borla catback = Perfect. maybe a little too quiet, but Im sure some would love that also

welded in a vibrant resonator, DTLT's, DT pipe bomb, and gibson catback.....still a slight rasp at 3k rpms, but sounds much better......gotta retorque and weld up a small leak near resonator.
