Muffler vs Catback

Ive searched and im having trouble with just a simple answer.

1)How much better, if any, is it to go with a full catback vs. just the muffler exchange. looking for no loss in power preferably and sound increase.

2)If i were to go with just the muffler exchange should i match the stock pipe diameter with 2.25 in/out or go with 2.5 in/out and have a shop flare out the pipe ends to weld?


NOTE: I have decided on "Dynomax Ultra flo SS welded"

 

If your not looking for power just do the muffler. Most of the sound comes from the muffler.

 

just go with the muffler...................alot cheaper than a catback.....and essentially the same thing.

1st thank you for always answering me. HAHA next u had suggested the idea to go with the 2.5" muffler and let a shop flare the pipe ends. am i going to see a difference from the muffler with 2.25 in/out or 2.5 in/out? Which makes more since to get?

 

just go with the 2.5.................you'll not see a difference between the two. and you are welcome.
