Once the SC is bolted on is a cai or other mods useful?
    If so, what?

You'll need fuel mods to control the pinging and lean out associated with the SC. Head on over to URDusa.com to check out what they have.

I believe he has the 4.0l newer tacoma, you're thinking of the pingin issues with the older ones.

Yes it is the 4.0L 1GR.
The kit comes with a colder Iridium plug and larger injector jets.
I only need the power in the winter. I am thinking of leaving the stock jets.
Would this be too lean if you used the gears for power?
    I don`t wish to burn a valve.

Why would you not install the larger injectors that come in the kit? You should not leave the stock ones on if you put the SC on, it would likely cause you some problems.
