7th Injector Part Number

I recently installed the TRD supercharger on my Tacoma, and of course I have the pinging in higher-gear, low-rpm situations. I have obtained a partial TRD 7th injector kit, which I hope will fix the problem, but I am missing the Fuel Injector Block that the install instructions call for. Can someone please tell me if this is just a fuel injector mounted in a small housing? If so, does anyone know the part number for the injector, because it seems unlikely to me that it is the same as the other six injectors on the truck. If I can get the part number, I will buy an injector and make a small block to hold it.
Also, why does TRD include a new thermostat? I assume its the 160 degree thermostat, but what's wrong with the stock 190?

Any help would be great. Thanks!

BE VERY CAREFUL!!

When boosted you are creating much more load on the engine. If you getting the high gear low rpm ping, then you could potentially damage the rings and screw yourself over.

The 160° T-stat is VERY important. Lowering the temperature at which the t-stat opens will allow the block to run cooler. Now while cooler temperatures aren't ideal for oil life (will need to replace sooner then later), it keeps the cylinder walls cooler, and more resistant to knock.

Knock under boost is a very fast way to blow up a motor.

Thanks for the response. I am concerned about the knock, which is why I want to add the 7th injector, which is why I'm trying to find the fuel injector part number.
It is puzzling to me as to why TRD sells the supercharger as a bolt on kit and even gives a warranty when adding it results in the ping. Any ideas?

what are you using to tune? Adding more fuel, or pulling timing under those loads will help that issue. Keeping the ECT down will help as well.

Can you list your full performance mod list?

When you start making more power, and exposing the motor to higher loads, using the correct gear becomes more important. High gear, low-rpm is putting a lot of stress on the motor. Its best to avoid that scenario.

if you need to go faster, its better to downshift, then lug the engine.

I'm not currently using anything to tune it. The only performance mod is the supercharger. That's why I want to add the 7th injector kit to increase fuel delivery. So I'd like to get the Fuel Injector part number to complete my kit.

Gotcha!

GET THAT BAISH TUNED!! lol, tuning > blown motor.

URD has a 7th inj kit for the 3.4L TRD S/C. As well as a full tuning kit. I recommend one of those kits.

As for a TRD 7th inj kit. I'm not sure on that. I haven't dealt with the prev gen tacomas, so i'm not of much help there.
