Rotors are shot

    Well its time, after 140,000 the rotors on my 05 are done. I replaced pads at 80,000 so makes sense to do it all. Any sugestions on upgrades? Thinkin on doing the shocks at the same time and maybe a lift kit of some sort...any thoughts?

    I think they make some high end composite porcelan brake pads & if ya got the money to do it, do it all in one shot , do alot of research yourself on lift kits & the characteristics that each manufacturers all have , then ask around & get feedback from people in here that have made all the mods you speak of & take the information you've already researched,combine that with the feedback recieved in here & you'll have no problem getting your truck tricked-out within a decent budget.....:cool:

    Anyone running SS lines? While I have it apart I was thinking on replacing the stockers. Is it worth it?

    Also looking for pads and rotors, there is alot of info and after market options out there, what is everybody upgrading to?

    Yes, but I'm also running a lot of other weird stuff that makes my truck a poor reference for comparison.

    Others are running braided SS lines on their trucks with excellent results. New pads, rotors, lines, properly bleed the whole system, adjust your rear drum brakes (probably time to replace those rear brake shoes too), and you'll be pleased with the results.

    Use stock replacement shoes on the rear? any need for upgrade there?

    You should be fine with stock replacement shoes for the rear. Aside from the random times the parking brake might stick in wet weather they work well.

    Got my SP Performance rotors and hawk pads installed today...what a difference! smooth firm fast stops..
