Just a stright drop-in non KN type. Free-flowing or even washable like the AEM that they don't make for Prerunners? Thanks Rich....

    For the stock intake?

K&N, TRD, and Stock is your only choices.

AFE makes a foam filter for the V6. Ask Maverick491 about it. He has one.

AFE makes a oil free for the V6 or I4. Got mine from Ultimate truck and auto for about $45.00 with free shipping. Works great. Might have to enter a part # for a '06 but they fit all the way to '08.

Can you actually see a performance difference, as in faster acceleration or better mileage?

I've got less than 600 miles on the truck. It sounds a little better and does seem more responsive. It will never be on a Dyno to know for sure. But for $45 that is the cost of maybe 3 stock filters and this will last the 10 years I'll have this truck. Simply clean with soap and water, let dry, and back at 100%. I started to take out the secondary filter tonight. I got it all apart and shined a flashlight from the back and really don't see how it is that restrictive. Also I measured and it seemed that there would be a loose fit between the houseing and the primary air filter that might allow stuff to bypass the filter into the engine. I've asked about this on another thread and I'll let you know. Later
