Talk me into or out of a SUPERCHARGER!!!

I'm torn on whether or not to install a supercharger on my truck. Give me your thoughts...

#1 question,,,why would you want it?

Speed - nominal

Costs - excessive

Gas milage - horrible

Coolness - Outrageously high

If you have lots of money to spend and dont care what the price of coolness costs then go for it.

I think the tacoma has good power out of the box. Strapping a blower on it is going to make you as fast as what? A V6 Honda accord? Maybe?

If you had a Mustang or Camaro sure. I think its a waste on tacoma.

keep it coming...

Premium fuel is of no concern, I'm already used to it. So we can rule that potential negative out.

BTW, I'm talking about the TRD Supercharger.

Do it. Now. You'll even get to keep your factory warranty.

nah, I don't really exceed the speed limit too much anymore. Plus I have a bike for speed. I can't explain why I want (certainly don't need) the supercharger, I guess since I plan on having this truck for a while it may as well be as good as it can get.

I mean, its like $5000 for the kit plus install and cost of the dealership re-flashing your computer to tell you fuel pump to flow more. For the power vs. cost ratio, its a FAIL. You get an extra 70 hp for $5500+, when you can make way more power from a different set up for the same or less cost.

The main thing is that you get to keep your factory warranty. If that is your concern, get the TRD supercharger, if you DGAF over the warranty, then go a different direction.

If you don't offroad, definitely get the URD instead of TRD. The TRD is roots tyle which will give you more low end torque. The URD is turbine style which will give you more top end horsepower.
