how much more power will u get after tuning the urd maf calibrator?

    i am looking at getting a urd maf calibrator i'm just wondering if anyone has gotten it drove it for awhile then got it tuned to see what the diff is and if its worth the extra $$$ thanks

    I would guess 5-15hp, but more importantly, you'll be able to run a tune that is safe for your truck.

    so just the urd maf isnt safe??? or just would be better with the tune??

    also anyone out there that has one and later got it tuned how did it turn out??

    Running a safe tune is the benefit of getting the MAF cal.

    If you install it without tuning it, you will either be running a neutral map, and will see no changes at all (no tuning being done). Or you could have a map that is loaded on there that may not be good for your mods (dangerous).

    So either way, you will need to tune it to make sure it fits your needs.

    doesn't it come already tuned when you buy it from urd with the correct software for the intake system your running on the truck?

    from what i've read, it seems that it does come pre-programmed but to the specs that urd used on an x-runner. and that if you have any additional or different mods you will need to either hook it up to your laptop or take it in and have it dyno'd to get the appropriate setup for your specific application.

    op: on urd's website it says that they dyno tested and gained 15 hp at the wheels. heres the link

    dammit i need to get an external cd drive to install the software and start tuning cuz my dam netbook doesnt have one :laugh: I bet one of my technological inclined friends can help me tho

    yeah thanks i thought i was right that urd tuned them to the setup that u have and i've heard that without tunning after u get it that u can definatly tell a diff so i cant wait to get mine and get it all hooked up but it'll be awhile but u bet ur sweet a** that there will be some videos commin when i get it lol
