alright i got the straight piped installed and holy shit its fuckin nice!!! i dunno what these other guys are saying about it being retarded or what not. i kept the stock cat and replaced the muffler with the 2.25" straight pipe and its so damn nice. has a nice deep tone to it but higher rpms it screams. i love it. and would recommend it to anyone else. :D

def man. even the guy who did the welding was like " you know your truck is gonna be loud as hell and ricy" and im like lets see and after it was all said and done, the mechanic was impressed at how nice and deep the tone was. :D

ad for the video/audio, i tried using my digital camera to record it but the camera really dosnt do it justice. It cant pick up the nice deep rumble the truck makes at idle and crusing speed. so unless i get a better camera or mic i prob wont record it, as much as i want too.

and yeah i got a cherry bomb glasspack coming in as well so if i decide the striaght pipe is too much, ill just do what presidentredz did and slap that glasspack on then.

but i love the way it sounds now!!!

Thats good to hear!! I think all the straight piped 4 cyl. Iv heard had the cats cut off too. Loud as crap and just obnoxious IMO. My truck is loud with the header and flowmaster, but like you said with a nice low note. I guess thats what I was affraid of with doing a straight pipe was the chance of it sounding like a pissed off civic. But its good to hear that its got a nice low tone.

yeah, i think most people that straight pipe their tacos with the 2.7l get rid of the cats and i think thats why you get a pissed of civic sound, but keepin them on makes a nice deep tone.

How do you think it would sound with a 3.4L? I've still got stock exhaust system on my 2001, was thinking about changing it up a bit.

I'm a little confused. Why would chopping off the muffler and putting a pipe in it's place cost 200 bucks? Unless you are getting all new piping and stuff.

To have my cutout installed it cost me $30. I cut the section myself and the guy just put the car on a lift and welded it in. I was in and out in 20 minutes.
