Has anyone mounted an auxiliary fuel tank or liquid transfer tank on their truck? If so, how has it worked for you? I've seen the aux. tank that downey makes but not many others. I'm surprised there's not a much larger market for added fuel capacity than there is. Thanks in advance for your help.

I've seen on some site a guy build his own with an Isuzu Trooper tank I think, he mounted it where the spare sits. Looked pretty good, tucked up decent he had a skid plate for it of course.

for around 1500-2000 bucks you can have a custom made 45-60 gal aux. tank that is integrated into tool box.

How much are you willing to spend? Also, are you willing to sacrifice bed space to fit the extra fuel?

I like the downey option since its over the spare and only moves the spare down 4 inches... No bed space either

talked to downey they said that the newer tacomas are trowing engine lights due to the tank emissions of a 2nd tank... not good.
