Does anyone know what the issue is with the fit kit for 2010 models? TRD will not tell me anything on a release date. They did say the kit for the 2010 has a wiring difference. A TRD vendor on eBay says its just the flash. Don't know what to believe. Thanks for any direction!

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I have heard several people say it is the flash. A wire difference would result in a change in the flash and vice versa.

I just got off the phone with my dealer and they say that TRD has no plans for releasing a fit kit anytime soon.

    A wiring change??

The only wiring involved with the S/C is the wiring for the intercooler pump. And that's just a fused relay tapping into a 12v and some ground. Make/Model/Year could give a crap about that.

The TRD Re-flash is most likely not available for the 2010. No worries though, get yourself a piggy back and a tune, and your all set.

APR says no. Won't work on the 09 or the 10.

I'm new, but I'm picking up my '10 on Friday, and SC is being installed by dealer next week. Something they aren't telling me?

Yep, he's right. The plugs on the new ECUs' are different. So the unit won't connect, and toyota has the new plugs behind lock and key for now (so no one can reproduce the plugs).

I would ask a LOT of questions regarding ECU compatibility with the TRD re-flash. If you can, get everything in writing to protect yourself.

The only problem they had,,, was the re flush. If you had the re flush done -to your auto transmission for harsh shifting ??? the TRD supercharger re flush would not work with. But not anymore. Aparently they came out with the new re flush that will allow you to install the supercharger. The TIS #-3YWG1100. Spoke with the dealer and they will check and confirm sometime today. I all ready call Toyota Corp and as usual I got a little clueless guy that didn't even know what a TIS means.

Try to call your dealer with this # and see if they can confirm this.

Thanks for the input guys. I don't want aftermarket components on my 2010 that could effect warranty. If Its not TRD, I'm not going to use it.

I had a 2002 Tacoma Limited with the SC. That truck was gutless without the SC. Regardless, all warranties still applied and the truck looked and acted like a production powerplant. I didnt have to be worried or concerned about anything. Well, if I didnt run a very good 93, It sounded like marbles in a paint can....

Im going to call my dealer now and see if the ban has been lifted!

spoke with my dealer and they had me bring my truck in to hook up their scan gauge because when they entered my VIN into their computer it didn't recognize it. scan gauge says i can get the TRD SC re-flash that was released on 02-04-10. my truck goes in next wednesday for my SC install, finally.

Looks like there is a new fit kit for the 2010. PTR29-35100. The part number for the 09's and earlier was the PTR29-35091. So, my question still is...was there really a wiring change?

The only guys that can answer your question... - has to be someone from a dealer that got to install an 09 and 10 . Is hard to know without ,at least, the installation manual for both years. Frankly when I did the installation on my truck I did not find to have too many wires. Just a few plugs.

Day and night. For not much of a difference in gas.. If you use small roads and not much of 80 mph highways your mileage is going to improve a little. Everything is under your foot.

After visiting my dealer this morning a few conclusions were drawn. It is my belief, and that of my service/parts chick, that PTR29-35100 is a REPLACEMENT for PTR29-35091 that includes the TIS File (ECU reflash code) for the 2010. PTR29-35100 is listed as the new Fit Kit for 2005-2010 V6 Tacomas.

So this morning begins the install of PTR29-35091 on my 2010 V6 Tacoma which will be reflashed with the appropriate TIS File.
