Muffler mounting position

so I had my FM 50 series installed today and it sounds great, I drove it home, the wife loved it and all was well with the world. Well When I went to admire the work I realized they mounted the muffler in a strange position. Instead of mounting it flat the mounted it vertically. Now it doesn't hit anything and its not in the way, as well as it is mounted very securely. My question is, is this going to affect the durability of my muffler? or have a negative side effect on my engine?

 

i think thats just how FM mufflers get mounted?

you should be fine. they may have oriented it like that in order to better center it under the factory heat shield...at least that's what i did with my 40

I'm guessing they had to mount it that way to line things up with your original piping...

I have a FM 50 dual exit catback variety and mine is mounted flat. I removed all the original piping after the cats.
