Your right... Because you'll only be able to beat a ford ranger with a s/c..

Don't mind these vids, I'm sure, my truck is only capable of dusting the 4.0L Rangers... BTW, stock boost, with a tune and minor bolt-ons

You can get a blower for about $3k

    I would beg to differ...

Yep, get it. I paid an additional $3k installed by dealer, and that included the TRD CAI, along with installation of my Borla Exhaust (traded dealer Sport wheels for exhaust).

    you will love it.

I have had the URD MKI, the URD MKII, and the TRD now and they are all leaps and bounds better than stock. well worth the extra fuel coin.

I say go for it! A friend of mine is putting a SC on his FJ (Same motor as us) He is dealing with URD and seems to be very pleased with their help. He's adding a seventh injector, mods to his intake and exhaust valve gears (I think), also he has a device from URD that can remap his fuel program to run different types of gas. I believe he also plans to change his injectors to run E85

Why did you move from the different S/C systems, especially from the URD Mk.II to the TRD?

    LOL...

I am three months away from purchasing the TRD SC. I believe both TRD and URD are great set ups, but went with the TRD so I can produce more of the torque that will be needed to push bigger tires than what the XR guys are running.

Is this a sports car? No....

Is it a bad ass truck that can Hawl, hit the dirt, and smoke the tires on any given occasion? Yes sir...

My only question would be, whats the hold up???:D

Well then there's the plan... I get home in Aug.

So I guess we will both be Boosted before the turn of the fiscal year...

Oh and if you havent looked into the APR X-1, do so. I have it, love it, and it will do so much for the blower when paired together.
    http://www.aprpower.com/ECU_mainpage.html

    I am also going with the 2.7 pulley/7th inj/E85 680cc inj/fuel pump:

Figured go big or go home, LOL...

But nonetheless you will enjoy it, and you wont be dissapointed.

that would be te APR X-1, Gadget is the man with setting that one set up.

I put that in with the blower, you do not need to do the TRD reflash if you put in the X1 and you can take it 100% back to stock if needed

on the X, I originally had the URD MKI and loved it,

then when the MKII came out I upgrade to that setup. That was just a monster ( i never dynoed it, but i was full stage 3 so it was in the 400 whp range)

They were both very nicely matched to the X-runner

when I was looking for a 4x4, I just wanted something a little simpler and not so over the top, so I worked a deal with a TRD owner and we swapped them over. The URD kit was faster ( especially in the top end), but I have not intentions of winning races on 35s, so this works well for me

I have a smaller pulley and headers ( and probably bigger injectors and fuel pump) to put on and it will be a nice little setup with plenty of grunt

Would you consider either of the URD kits usable on a 4x4 setup with a more reasonable tire size (32")?

Personally I wouldn't. The URD kit just won't make the usable torque that the TRD unit does. Being 4x4, I would assume you would use it as so, and would require that lowend torque.

Offroading, drag racing, passing power, TRD is the way to go.

Where does the URD leave the TRD behind on a dyno graph? Somewhere around 3krpm or lower?
