tacoma exhaust question

I have a 1998 Tacoma with a 2.7l. I'm going to put on a 3-chamber flowmaster and i'd like to know if it's going to affect me to take off my catalytic converter. Will it cause any problems with my o2 sensor? I don't have any emmission laws so I'm not worried about that. If i take it off will i benefit at all? I can use any help. Thanks

sweet.....going with the flowmaster!!! gonna sound killer man!! depending on where your o2 sensor is, it may help to take it off. if the sensor is before the cat.....take it off......it wont throw a cel as far as i know anyway. removing the cat will probably yield better flow, a bit more power too, and maybe mileage will increase a bit. if you are any worried about the environment(as alot of people are), go with a magnaflow hi-flow cat. i say remove the cat and put in straight pipe....do it the right way. one caution for you though.....its gonna make it quite a bit louder, but if your like me and like "loud".......i say go for it!

I can not say for sure 100% that removing the cat will help or hurt gas millage but you should keep a CAT in there if you can..

If we want to go off roading and have forests, we need to think about how we impact it.

But if you are racing and need the extra bit of peak only HP that removing it gives go for it. then when the race is over put the CAT back in...

Yes removing CAT will only help with Peak HP in most case.

keep food for thought...

Make a test pipe. Header flanges on the cat, test pipe and pipe from the motor and tailpipe.
