APR-X1 improving MPG????

I have heared that the X1 engine controller will give you better fuel economy, some claim up to 3MPG gain. Is this true?

 

I have heard that as well. I think it is possible, with the exhaust cam timing adjustment along with long tube headers it should increase exhaust scavenging thus allowing for better fuel efficiency if you keep your foot out of it. Hope others with the kit will chime in.

about to pull the triger on one of these.....really would like to see some feedback first, regarding fuel efficiency....

 

Never noticed an increase in gas mileage, but I will say that you will not regret all the benefits that the APR will provide. I have to say that it will not inhibit gas mileage

Any ideas on how well it works with the TRD supercharger with the reflash

 

The APR is perfect for the TRD setup. You do not need the reflash if you have the APR. However, if you already had reflash done before installing APR; there is a MAP for that.

 

I cant say that I have seen any increase in MPG because of the X1. It does breath a little better with the cam gears, but I still get 19 ish in my truck

but for the TRD S/C skip the reflash and you can go back to stock at anytime with no problem

I'm pretty much sold on the APR X1, but does anyone know if this will work for a 2003 Tacoma. I bought it used with 34,000 miles and it had a TRD supercharger and TRD cat-back exhaust. I put on an air intake and JBA headers and barely noticed any difference. I'd like the fuel economy to go up as well when I don't mash the throttle.

Currently, I get 16.5 in the city and 14 on they highway. No, I didn't interchange the 2. It's probably reversed because of the drag with the 6 inch lift.

 

For 2003? Unlikely.

But, if you contact Gadget @ www.urdusa.com, he will steer you toward the correct engine management system for the 1st Gen Taco.
